This is SleeplessApp, a free Windows application that prevents lock screen and simulates user activity.

The idea behind

The idea to create this app came mostly from the observation of people working at home , who, while occupied by other tasks, often struggle to keep their Windows-based laptop active. The most popular solutions observed are launching a PowerPoint presentation or rubbing the trackpad every now and then, so that the laptop does not log out automatically.

The app that will make your life a bit easier

How many times has it happened to you that after returning from a short coffee break or a phone conversation, your laptop welcomes you with the login screen and presents the "idle/away" status to your co-workers in communicators like Skype or Messenger? After each break, instead of immediately returning to your work, you are forced to enter the password, over and over again during a long working day. As we all know, corporate security policies often make it long and cumbersome to enter. Regular employees, hardly ever have the permission to change the auto-logout setting and usually do not have the permission to install new applications.

How it works

Sleepless resides in the Windows system tray and is responsible for keeping the operating system awake and active. It prevents Windows from automatically logging users out and communicators from presenting idle status. The app solves the problem ofWindows log offs caused by inactivity during short breaks from work. Sleepless is a small binary application that does not require installation, it is a portable program that can be copied to any location on the local drive and be run just with double click. Sleepless is available free of charge and can be redistributed.

How to start using the Sleepless Windows app

Sleepless is addressed to those who want to disable Windows option to lock the computer after a period of inactivity but do not have sufficient rights to change the system settings.

Start the app by just clicking the executable Sleepless.exe file. If your Windows configuration forbids running .exe files, please use the included Sleepless.bat script.
